The Kiha 35 series is a general-purpose diesel car of the Japanese National Railways that was introduced in 1961.

The Kiha 30 series was a car with a driver's cab on both sides, and the 500 series, which was manufactured for cold regions, had a square roof ventilator.

The cars on the Sagami Line changed to cream with blue stripes around 1986.
