This tram was built in April 1903 by the Electric Railway and Tramway Carriage Works and was one of 100 class “B” vehicles ordered by the London County Council.

Under the number 106 it was used as a passenger vehicle until 1925, when it was converted into a snow plough under the number 022. In 1983, 106 was taken to the National Tramway Museum at Crich in Derbyshire, where it remains today and has covered over 10,000 miles in passenger service.

Originally it was powered by two 25 hp Dick Kerr DK25A engines, replaced in 1927 by 42 hp Westinghouse 220 engines. It had hand brakes on the wheels and rheostatic brakes via the engines. In 1908 magnetic brakes were installed.
